“How low?”

Forty-two percent. Yep… forty-two percent (42%) of Americans fall into the Strongly Disapprove Category of Rasmussen’s latest Obama Presidential Approval Index.

How could this happen to our Glorious Leader? What happened to cause this? Well, tell ya what… lets take a look at some of the plethora of reasons Americans, in fact, a lot of the world have lost their adoration of this man and his administration.

Unemployment is skyrocketing. November Federal unemployment figures are showing how the rate fell from October’s 10.2 percent to 10 percent. Now when you realize that one of the four weeks included in the calculating of this figure is only three days long. AND that week was a HOLIDAY week. So no one was out looking for a job and this is used to show how the jobless rate is going down. Su-ure…

A staggering economic recession. I could go on about this for 100,000 words and not even scratch he surface on this accomplishment of the Obama regime.

The housing crisis (which WAS started by liberals) and caused the housing sector to crater.

Another glowing accomplishment of this bunch: They took over GM and Chrysler. Then scammed the American public with the Cash For Clunkers program… How many of the new cars sold were actually AMERICAN MADE or even American assembled?

And just what was the long-term result of this hoax? In September, GM, Ford and Chrysler each reported drastic declines in sales. It seems that the American market is suffering from a hangover from the Cash for Clunkers scam.

When compared with 2008 September sales figures General Motors suffered the steepest drop, 45 percent. Chrysler? They were down 42 percent and what about Ford? Remember that Ford did not suck up to the government teat. I wonder if this fact has anything to do with the fact that Ford Motor Co. got to enjoy the much smaller decline of 5.1 percent.

The banking system, nationalizing mortgage agencies (in effect taking state ownership of half the homes in America)

Then there is the Cap and Trade package… what a joke. The vast amount of money this and the entire climate control scam will cost is almost beyond comprehension: $1,761 per family, per year.
Think of all the families in the US… $200 billion dollars PER YEAR!!!

This Cap and Trade climate control scam is falling apart before Obama’s very eyes. And now the rest of the world is getting to see the emptiness of his power. His support for the ‘Nopenhagen” climate control agenda has not done anything to get it’s passage, in fact, his support is playing to the very failure of the Copenhagen climate control and re-distribute the wealth of the US.

A stimulus (Slush fund) package that is still sitting, waiting to be spent. Well, just waiting to buy votes…

Next in line is the rationed, single-payer (off the table today, but tomorrow…), government healthcare plan.

61% of American people are dead-set against his hallmark piece of legislation and no, that does not mean that… well, so, 39% of the American people like it…

WRONG!

At the VERY best, maybe, MAYBE 19% like it. And even the people who taut that number do it with some reservation: they can’t show that approval is that high. I don’t know how I could try to sell something that less than one in five buyers are interested in. And lemme tell ya, my wife has a proven record as a salesperson, and ‘could sell refrigerators to Eskimos’. Not that she would try, but selling the American people on the rationed, government healthcare system that Princess Nancy, Squeaky Reid, and Big Barry are trying to cram down our throats is beyond even her.

If it is all so wonderful, everything that the American people need… why is Big Barry having to traipse over to Capitol Hill every other day to ‘talk’ (read: browbeat) to members of Congress? I thought he was so magnificent that this would have passed just because… well, HE asked for it.

Oh, yeah I know that this question has been asked, but it’s my turn: if the rationed, government healthcare scam is all so great, why don’t the members of Congress want to be the first to enroll their families in it? Maybe they know that the government healthcare plan WON’T EVEN begin actually enrolling participants for FOUR YEARS!!! Yeah, they start taxing the bejesus out of everyone now, but the American public won’t get to really appreciate how this scam will screw them over until 2014. But then, hopefully a LOT of the members of both houses of Congress WILL be private citizens again and will get to truly enjoy the benefits of this.

Another aspect of the rationed, government issued healthcare scam is the impact it will have on the National debt. The public debt plus the debt held by government accounts for the gross federal debt can go. The Treasury Department is able to borrow funds only as high as the statutory debt limit permits. The public holds 70% of the gross federal debt.

On Wednesday, by a 218-214 vote the House passed legislation to give the federal government the ability to borrow $290 billion to finance its operations for only six additional weeks.

Between this and the costs associated with the healthcare scam… even if no more is piled into the equation, our great-grandchildren will be paying on the bill this administration is passing on to them.
Oh, there is also someone who is REALLY PO’ed by how high the debt limit has been pushed. The Chinese, and they are LIVID with it. Seems that the Chinese are becoming increasingly disillusioned with Big Barry’s ‘leadership’.

And really, who can blame them? As of October the Chinese hold 798.9 billion dollars worth of US debt. The problem is: with the dropping of the value of the dollar… well, the Chinese are experiencing massive losses on their investment in US bonds.

And what about some of our other friends around the world? Well, Dubai, whose economy is so closely tied to ours is going face down into the sand.

“Do WHA…?” you ask. We remain dependent upon foreign oil. With no coherent energy policy and none on the horizon, this administration seems to be content to curtail and cripple the US economy so that less oil is needed.

And now… I know, you’re getting tired of all this. So are a lot of people. The problem is that the reasons just keep coming.

With the undermined world confidence in the US dollar: a direct result of the Obama Administration policies, a further devaluation of the dollar, an increase in interest rates, both of which will invariably lead to higher inflation in the US. Mass production of dollars U.S. by fiat is just another reason for the further drop in faith in the U.S.

So… because dollars are being printed as fast as the presses can run, the dollar is tanking in every way. Russia and China have been pushing to replace it with everything from the Euro (PAH-LEEZE) to whatever.

Now, some of the Arab States are pushing to replace the dollar with a petro-currency of their own.
The Gulf States who have so far have signed onto this idea are Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, with The United Arab Emirates holding out, for now.

Replacing the US dollar as the currency used for oil contracts would greatly increase the influence of these Arab States in the global exchange and capital markets.

Collectively, the members of this group account to being a regional superpower. A superpower with a combined GDP of $1.2 trillion and forty percent of the world’s proven oil reserves.

And financial power equal to that of China. And we remember how PO’ed China is at us.

So… the kidnapper-cum-Iranian Prime Minister Ahmadinejad is going to go to Copenhagen next week to address the “negotiators” at the international climate talks.

Oh, just so you know: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe are also planning to speak before this… august body.

Don’t worry I’m not going to ask my question the way I really feel that it deserves… but can someone PAH_LEEZE tell me just what these nutjobs are doing there. I mean, we are supposed to believe that this is a gathering of “scientists” (read: climate hoax-mongers) there to tackle to the Earth’s climate and get it under control, not an anti-US, anti-capitalism rally.

I know… it’s not REALLY about climate change but rather more about UN dictatorship empowered by heavy taxation. Marxism and Fascism at its pinnacle.

First, They have some back-bencher assistant president from Sudan by the name of Nafie Ali Nafie starting this hand-wringing blab-fest at noon on Wednesday.

This guy Nafie, he’s the chairman of a block of developing nations that call themselves the G-77. Now the G-77 is twisting a lot of arms in its push for stricter emissions cuts from rich countries. Oh, and more money, A LOT more money (handouts) from those rich countries. Basically, all this bunch is there for is to agree on how much each of these rich countries will have to pay in their financing of this massive redistribution of wealth.

By the way, we have the G-7, G-8, G-20… and now the G-77…? Just how many “G” country groups do we need? What purpose does this bunch serve other than to whine and crybaby about how badly they’ve been treated and that it’s all the US’s fault. I looked them up and cannot find a real purpose for the G-77 except a shared open hand extended to the US. The thing is, with countries like Brazil, Chile, India… Kuwait, Yemen… these are NOT poor countries, in fact they are countries WE depend on anymore.

Ca’mon now… if it had not been for the United States, where would those countries be? Definitely nowhere near the 21st century. And this is the same bunch who would bite off the hand that feeds it and kill the engine for all those free dollars it is intending on raping, I mean reaping from us?

Hey, I’ll admit: I’m a simple man, and yeah, I grew up out in New Mexico where you have to drill quite a ways to hit water. And when you do, it’s usually pretty good water. but… sometimes you can run a well dry. These countries, same as the liberals in this country, hold this idea that they can plunder the bank accounts of anyone who has more than they do and that there is no end to that supply of money. They stifle the US with this, and it won’t be long before this well will run dry. Where will these beggars be then?

New Scientist says of the conference: “It’s being billed as the meeting that will determine the future of humanity”. You know, I think I actually have something I agree with this rag on. It WILL change humanity! But definitely not in a good way.

Like the rationed, single-payer, government healthcare bill that is currently threatening to be passed, the results of this conference could easily be the tool used against developed nations in subjugating them and killing the engines which effectively move humanity forward through advances in every aspect of our collective lives.

New Scientist is also touting this debacle as a weeklong challenge for the ‘delegates’ to agree on ways of ensuring we do not exceed a 250,000 megaton maximum amount of carbon we can put into the atmosphere – ever. That’s not a yearly ration, that is an ALL TIME MAXIMUM! What is their answer when we actually DO hit that maximum?

Now when you realize that plant life thrives, yeah, it really does thrive on carbon dioxide, you realize it actually is quite necessary! In fact, without carbon dioxide plants and trees and in turn, everything that lives off of the vegetation of this planet – DIES! It’s kind of a cycle of life, food chain thing…

Water, soil, underground nutrients, and carbon dioxide make for healthy plants. Healthy, good tasting plants are used to feed others higher up the food chain than they are. In turn, those animals become food for the next tier above them. As animals eat the plants waste products; solid, liquid, and… yes airborne, are manufactured and start the cycle over and enrich the environment for plants.

I guess what I‘m getting at here is that this whole Copenhagen get-together is a farce whose only purpose is to move toward total control of the entire earth. WHILE stripping the US of it sovereignty and taking us headlong down the path of destruction.

Stripping the US of its sovereignty? Yep, if this does go through, United States citizens will be subject to world courts. And none other than our illustrious President is pushing to get this done.

After dissing King Harald V of Norway, President Obama went to Copenhagen, hoping his voice will add the necessary momentum to the throng in order to move the process forward.

This despite slow progress on the Cap and Trade bill at home which is to cut carbon emissions.

The one question I have had throughout writing this is: Why, if this is supposed to be a “scientific” conference, are all these heads of state running over there to line up to pressure these so-called white lab-coat researchers? If it truly WERE science that was being debated, Sarkozy, Obama, Ahmadinejad, Chavez… none of them would have any business being there.

I’ll leave you to ponder that question. I have my thoughts as to the answer, but right now ~ it’s your turn…

So Big Barry doesn’t think enough of the Norwegians, who by the way are the ones giving him the Nobel Prize for Peace, to stop by and at least have a beer with their King.

Not even a quick drive-by to bump fists and allow King Harald V the honor and privilege of being in his presence.

He has a very strong kick-ass attitude and… he likes HOT women too!). Wait a minute, these are all white people Big Barry is dissin’… Hey you, Big Barry, wha’s up wid dat yo?

I guess he figures that tha brutha Tiger is making up for his dissing white folk.

Sure, the Dalai Lama and Al Gore were able to make it to lunch with the King, but Big Barry? Just WHO do they think their King is? The impudence? The audacity? Why, why… they should just understand that Big Barry is… why, he’s impo’tant! (I heard someone saying that the other day on a newscast in Dallas so don’t start on me…).

Anyway, Big Barry isn’t making much of his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance. And, understandably the Norwegians are REALLY ticked off by this.

And to me this is kind of out of character for the big guy.

I mean, look at all the chances he is passing up to be the center of attention and praise himself:

1. Dinner with the Norwegian Nobel committee – meh, so what?
2. Press conference – OH! Wait, he could talk about himself and how he cares, and looks forward to getting letters from children all over the world.
3. Television interview – he could talk about himself and how he cares, and looks forward to getting letters from children all over the world. And he could whine about the mess Bush left him.
4. A children’s event promoting peace – another ‘so what?’ moment.
5. Music concert – Wow! this is getting boring – no way for him to talk about himself and how he cares, and looks forward to getting letters from children all over the world. And bash Bush.
6. Visit to exhibition in his honor at the Nobel peace center – Ah, another chance where he could talk about himself and how he cares, and looks forward to getting letters from children all over the world.
7. Lunch with the King of Norway – Naw, nothing in this for him.

The Swedish news agency TT is reporting an InFact poll that found 44 percent of the Norwegians believe Obama’s diss to King Harald V to be “rude.” And how do they feel about his not attending the traditional concert? Even more — 53 percent — are upset about this little faux-pax.

The president’s trip to Europe this week is being met with a definite chill. Even a quick read through Der Speigel, The Guardian, or The Local would soon show that the European love affair with Obama – which reached its zenith this week in his receiving the Nobel Prize – is over.

And now… a full third of Norwegians do not believe that the U.S. president deserves the Peace Prize.

There is also this: during Obama’s visit, in addition to all the other groups who applied for permits to demonstrate against this idiocy, 20 different Norwegian organizations also applied for permits to demonstrate.

And why should the Norwegians be surprised or upset by his ‘Alabama snub’ of them? He is only showing them the respect this award has truly come to deserve.

Well, that and the fact that they are not worthy of his presence.

Oh, by the way, for those who have never heard of the ‘Alabama snub’. Lemme ‘splain: in Alabama, this is THE most grievous insult possible.

You can have a torrid, twenty-year affair with a man’s wife. Daughter too! Run over his dog, and bash into his pickup truck as you make a hasty exit when he comes home unexpectedly – he’ll forgive you for all of that.

BUT! If you snub him – he’ll go to his grave hating you.

Now, I’m not saying that the Norwegians will come out of this snub hating him… but, I thought one of the reasons he got selected for the job was to run around the world making sure everyone liked us again.

THAT sure hasn’t happened: The Europeans laugh at him and at us by extension. The despots in the Middle-East and the Islamic world is REALLY PO’ed. China is upset that he has devalued so much of the paper they hold that it is now nearly worthless. Or WILL be if we keep going down the road he is trying to take this country on.

FAIL! Even with his insipid bowing and kowtowing to everyone he can find… that sure has not happened. Sorry, I digress. I’ll get back to my subject of Big Barry running over to Oslo. Doing a touch and go, drive-by award acceptance and racing on to Copenhagen to further screw the Norse (well, everyone actually) with the sham of a Climate (Population and Wealth-redistribution) Control Treaty.

Well, Geez… there isn’t much else I can say to the Norwegians except sorry you had to find out like this. It’s like the girlfriend who finally finds out that the guy she has been seeing really is married. She might have suspected for a long time, and turned a deaf ear to it, thinking all the while “He’s really wonderful and he wouldn’t do that to me. ..”

Sorry sweetie, Big Barry is just like that and after some wine and a good cry with your best friends the Swedish… you’ll get over him in time.

So… today I was in line at a convenience store and just ahead of me was some guy trying to show his wit and charm to the cashier with this lame attempt at a joke:
“Ju’hear how Cheata Woods had another woman come out claiming she was gettin’ ****ed by him?”
“Who?”
“You know, Cheata Woods? He’s havin’ to change his name from Tiger to Cheata.” He answered with a guffaw at this bit of witticism.
The young woman cashier just looked at the guy and handed him his change.
When he turned to look at me for backup for his joke, I gave him one of my favorite sullen stares accompanied by a monotone “Who cares?” The coupling of these pretty much made him decide to make a hasty retreat for the door.

And really… who cares?

Now, before you go off on some rant about how I am brushing it aside as though nothing happened and ‘well, they all do it, so who cares?’ bear with me for a few.

Did I say it was ok? NO!

Do I think that just because there are other big names, from the President on down, who cheat on their wives AND husbands that it’s ok? And yeah, women do it too. They are just a little better at hiding it. Probably because they aren’t showing their latest ‘trixie’ off to the guys. NO I don’t!

Do I think that he will have a LOT of sanctimonious bad press from people who ACTUALLY KNEW about Tiger’s cheating ways for YEARS and said nothing about it? Yeah… and rightfully so.

Do I think those same sports writers who are wringing their collective hands about ‘How a god has fallen?’ should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pass themselves off as shocked, SHOCKED I say! by this turn of events? Oh yeah!

According to some reports that are beginning to surface the only people who did not know about this was Elin and anyone NOT in the PGA golf community.

Is Tiger the latest to have to endure the American publics appetite as the main course in a public feeding frenzy? OH YEAH!

So yeah, we have a long (in fact, a VERY LOOONG) list of people who think that just because they are in some high place they can screw around and no one will either notice or care: Clinton, Kennedy, Sanford, Spitzer, Letterman… like I said: the list is a REALLY long one.

And yes, they all have taken a few teachable moments from the public airing of their transgressions. Generally: DON’T GET CAUGHT NEXT TIME!!!

And what effect will all this have on Tiger Woods?

Personally? I don’t think it will teach him restraint. Discretion… oh yeah! Restraint… naw.

Professionally? Will he play golf on the circuit next year? Yeah… maybe not for the first few months, but by mid-year… yeah.

“You can’t really mean that?” You ask incredulously.

Oh, but I do. Think of how often we here in the States build up our icons only to find that they are not the true GODS we had turned them into. AND… that they had come to believing in some measure themselves!

And as soon as we have called to called to in great indignation cancel our tickets to the Masters or Pebble Beach… whoa, wait a minute, what am I thinking, so what if he screwed around with, oh never mind the number, damn those women were HOT! Aw… give the guy a little slack, being number one is a hard job and well… he needed to have a little relaxation time…
We can all say that we won’t buy Gatorade, oh, they aren’t sponsoring him anymore… oops, well, I’ve always liked Mtn. Dew more anyway.

But… I digress.

Will, Tiger be on the circuit by mid-year?

Uhmmm… yeah. Golf can’t afford not to have him playing, so they will come out and start downplaying this fairly soon I think.

In fact, if you ask me, I think he’s playing this whole thing fairly well: taking the blame early on, being quiet about it (for the most part), and taking the bunker mentality of letting everyone else expend all the oxygen.

I think he should just sit tight, let all these women start a major cat-fight over who was ‘most wronged and hurt by this deceitful so-and-so’ and NOT, NOT, NOT, do a Bill Clintonesque apology tour!

Tiger should give the whole mess at least six if not eight (ten would be better) weeks before he comes out and in one, maybe two appearances, explain that he was wrong, he has learned a valuable lesson, and with a lot of help, is going to be putting his life and the lives of his family back together.

I doubt that Tiger Woods will probably ever be viewed as a “good guy” again, but America… the entire world, has welcomed back a lot of other people who have committed more serious (and illegal) acts than Tiger Woods.

Some are already saying that Tiger will be back in two months and to play in all the Majors. It is a possibility. The game of golf needs him too badly to just toss him into the used balls bucket. There will be people who will cheer for him, maybe not as many as before this all came out… but there will be plenty there to drown out the jeers from his detractors in the bleachers.

The Tiger Woods ‘good guy’ myth is a thing of the past, Tiger still exists and he’ll continue to golf. And in time, all will be forgotten… probably sometime next week when someone screws up and steals the limelight from Tiger and his ‘Barbie-doll Mistress Show’.

If American agriculture keeps going with the way it is, the US will be no better than a third world country importing the majority of it’s food.

It won’t be long before we are not going to need fences to keep the Mexican illegals from coming in, but rather to keep native born Americans IN the US.

While it is true that America is not an agrarian society anymore, and yes, you will hear how that the average American farmer feeds 128 people plus you, and himself, have you looked at the country of origin on that produce or that fruit you bought at the supermarket? Producto de Chile, Producto de Mexico, Producto de Guatemala, the list goes on.

And don’t think you are going to be seeing much in the way of Product of California anytime soon. Farmers in the Golden State are being strangled out by a two inch long little fish which provides nothing more than to be prey for two invasive species of fish that have gotten into the Sacramento Delta water system.

Larger fish such as striped bass and largemouth bass prey upon Delta Smelt for food. Oh, by the way, striped bass and largemouth bass are an alien, invasive species in the Sacramento Delta aquifer system… So, by their very very existence, the Delta Smelt is contributing to the destruction of their own ecosystem by providing a food source to these invading species of fish.

Today, because of the August 31, 2007 ruling by Eastern District California Federal Judge Oliver Wanger the San Joaquin Valley is being transformed into a dust bowl. His decision to severely curtail human use water deliveries at San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta from December to June in an attempt to protect the Delta Smelt has meant that hundreds of thousands of acres are now unproductive and wasting away as viable farmland.

And as that acreage is wasted and turned into a modern day Dust Bowl, tens of thousands of people are out of work — towns like Mendota are now faced with struggling with an unemployment rate of nearly 40%.

With the restrictions Judge Oliver Wanger placed on the region there isn’t enough water to go around this year. And what is the Obama administration doing about this situation? It is drawing up new reasons to divert more of it from farms and people and into the San Francisco Bay. Further driving MORE agricultural production, jobs, and subsequently – AMERICAN produce from the shelves of your local grocery stores.

While almond and plum trees are being left to die in the scorching sun, tomato plants, cantaloupe vines, berries of ALL kinds, lettuce… the list goes on and on of produce and fruit that is no longer being cultivated in this region. The VERY region that has historically fed so much of America.

The problem is that although i have focused so far on just one area of the country, the agricultural community of this ENTIRE country is being allowed to be legislated to possible extinction. Curtailed by legislation, harassed by environmentalist terrorism, the lending industry implosion, taxation… the AMERICAN family farm, and with it, a major piece of the backbone of the American way of life is slowly being destroyed.

And what is this wealth of American agriculture being replaced by?

Produce that is being grown beyond our borders.

In conditions that are NOT up to American USDA and FDA Standards. I would bet that the people who got food poisoning by eating onions at Chi-Chi’s Restaurants would have chosen differently had they known their meals included items grown in conditions which led to their health issues.

And how many other food contamination stories have you read about or seen reported on the nightly news which featured food coming in from beyond our borders?

Let’s see… Listeria, Salmonella, E. coli…

When you are dealing with growers in lands where there are either NO sanitary regulations or very minimalistic ones at best… what do you expect?

When you have someone working in a field who needs to take care of his or her basic bodily functions and for a number of reasons is either unwilling to walk to the nearest port-a-potty or there may not BE one within walking distance… well… their waste goes into the food chain and just may end up on your dinner table. Not very appetizing but a VERY real possibility with the origins of more and more of the produce and vegetables on the shelves of America’s store shelves.

I truly believe that by sharing our agricultural knowledge with other countries around the world and helping them become self-sustaining through whatever means is possible we as a nation become stronger. As the US goes, so goes the rest of current civilization. Just look around and see how the rest of the world has suffered as they watched the US suffer.

At the same time as we export our knowledge to them, these countries HAVE GOT to understand that if they are to sell products (of ANY kind) back to us, they HAVE GOT to be up to the standards we require of our own producers.

At a time we are watching our representatives shove an EXTREMELY unpopular rationed healthcare bill down our throats and they tell us about how they care about our health and well-being, they also let the American public fall prey to the deterioration of our own agricultural heritage and suffer the consequences of contaminated food, food shortages, higher unemployment, and destruction of irrigable land.

For what?

To save a useless little fish?

Ok, so… before we go any further, if this is your first time here, lemme warn you: i am not a Christian.

Now… that said, sit back and read while i once again poke my fellow godless heathens in their collective eye.

Now we all know that the Winter Solstice is central to the history of various winter religious celebrations. In civilizations around the world and throughout the ages the shortest day of the year has been celebrated with festivals of all kinds.

Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Northern Europe, ancient Brazil, and who can forget the Mayans and the calendar they left behind that is supposed to tell us of how time will end sometime late in 2012… the Winter Solstice played an important role in their religious rites. When early Christians spread out over the Roman Empire and beyond, they adapted their religion. Incorporating some local customs and rites to make conversion to Christianity a bit more palatable to the people they encountered, those adaptations have become vital parts of the current Christian religion.

Actually did you know that there is substantial evidence in the Gospels to indicate that Yeshua (Jesus) was born in the fall, but early Christians seem to have been ignorant of this fact. By the time the 4th century AD rolled around, there were a lot of people who wanted to choose a day to celebrate Yeshua’s birthday. Church leaders leaders of the day decided that December 25th was good, now get this: because this was already the date recognized throughout the Roman Empire as the birthday of various Pagan gods.

Various religions who celebrate at this time of the year and their different RELIGIOUS Holy Days include, but are not limited to:
* Buddhists, who celebrate Bodhi Day (or as it is also known: Rohatsu) on Dec 8th (or the Sunday preceding the 8th). This is the day when, in 596 BC, that Buddha achieved enlightenment.
* To Druids The Solstice is when the old sun dies and the dark-half of the year is born. It was called “Alban Arthuan” by the ancient Druids. It is the end of month of the Elder Tree and the start of the month of the Birch. The three days before Yule is a magical time for them.
* In Islam, Muslim holidays generally follow the lunar calendar, and thus move each year relative to the solar calendar. Ramadan, which honors the lunar month in which the Qura’n was revealed by Allah to humanity depends upon the sighting of the crescent moon. Some years, Muslims celebrate the month of Ramadan during December.
* To followers of Judaism the 8 day festival of Hanukkah, or Festival of lights, recalls the 2nd century BC rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem after the Maccabean Revolt for religious freedom that was fought by the Maccabees against Antiochus, the king of Syria.

Now, in case you are wondering where i have wondered off to on this and are afraid that i am making a case for the “Well, since everyone is celebrating during December why not include everyone and say ‘Happy Holidays’?”

NO! Not in the least!

The founders based the Constitution on the Judaeo-Christian philosophy (and no, this does not mean that this is a Christian nation). Why? Well, that was the prevalent religious philosophy at the time. And you know what… Christianity STILL seems to be the number one religion in this country today!

Now we have established that on December 25th every year Christians celebrate the birth of their Lord: Yeshua (Jesus). This is fundamental to the Christian faith.

Yes, if you look at the etymological roots of the word “Holiday’ it stands for ‘Religious Holy Day’. So what? And yeah, there are A LOT of Religious Holy Days sprinkled throughout the year that are referred to as ‘Holidays’. Good for them…

Although… the last time i checked, we don’t say “Happy Holiday” at Easter… it’s “Happy Easter”. Even when we are sending our little cupcakes out to scrounge around looking for brightly colored hard-boiled eggs… Something which has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the death and resurrection of Jesus. Hmmm…

Anyway… i guess what it has taken me all this time to say is once again: My godless heathen brethren, get over yourselves and leave the Christians ALONE! If you don’t want to celebrate the birth of their Lord with them go off and celebrate whatever YOU want to, there is quite a wide variety of choices for you out there… And here is a hint: your choice doesn’t have to have any religious overtones for you.

If you look at everything around you as far as the entire season is concerned you would be hard pressed to see that it really was the celebration of a Religious Holy Day.

And to answer those who ask how i respond to someone saying “Merry Christmas” to me? I may not believe the Christian philosophy but out of respect for those who do, i cheerfully reply “Merry Christmas” to them.

Newt Gingrich…

The man who led the 1994 Republican takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Newt Gingrich… who also got tossed (fairly unceremoniously) out of his Speaker’s position and sent packing after he attempted and nearly succeeded in consolidating more power in that office than over at the Oval Office.

Newt Gingrich… once “Mr. Conservative Republican”… now… well, let’s just say that Newt can’t call himself a Conservative with a straight face. And DEFINITELY not if he doesn’t want to be greeted by derisive jeers at THAT contention.

Lest we forget: it was little Newtie (we learned that was what his dear mother called him in an interview with Connie Chung (1995)) who worked with Hilary Clinton on one iteration of her failed health care plans. He also snuggled up real close to her on a a military readiness panel project she was working on…

And let’s not forget how he was almost a de-facto member of her 2008 Presidential bid team; giving her advice and nearly going on the stump for her…

Then, earlier this summer, Newt pitched in with ACORN (which endorsed Dede Scozzafava twice for the U.S. House seat from the 23rd district in NY). Planned Parenthood and NARAL were also active supporters of the EXTREMELY liberal Dede Scozzafava. And Newtie was right there trying to shove HER down the throats of true Conservative voters…

He then tried to reprimand TRUE Conservatives with his blatant and ridiculous hypocrisy by scolding them: “I think we are going to get into a very difficult environment around the country if suddenly conservative leaders decide they are going to anoint people without regard to local primaries and local choices.”

JUST WHAT THE **** had he, Micheal Steele, and the RNC just tried to do? They took the National machine in to a local contest and tried to shove a liberal, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-bailout, pro-porkulus, pro-Big Labor radical down the voters throats. How much more hypocritical can this self-absorbed little man be? It’s ok for him to do it but not for anyone else? Newtie, it seems you snuggled up just a lit-tle TOO close to Hilary and took on some of her ‘Do as I say, not as I do’ rationale for how things are done.

Oh! Remember how back in 2007, Newtie said, “We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto.”? Now though, despite his having supported English-only measures Newtie recently launched his own bilingual Web site: The Americano. And no, i did not link to it, i’m not going to promote it by doing even that little bit.

And now, Newt Gingrich is praising Big Barry for the the outright ridiculous way he is addressing the war in Afghanistan!!! Newtie says Big Barry is showing political courage after waiting over ONE HUNDRED days to give the same speech he gave back in March on the war effort in Afghanistan.

What a courageous stance Newtie: send 30,000 thousand of our finest and bravest to be nothing but the ‘last to be killed’ in an outright waste of time (for what it will accomplish) as they are not there to win but only be killed and brought back in body-bags.

Conservative principles, ideas, ideals, and integrity are only things of the past for Newtie as he once again proves that he wants nothing to do with them. Now… Newt seems to be interested in only one thing: the raw acquisition of power for the sake of power.

Although… let me “walk that back” as they commonly say now: he also seems to be giving Rev. Al Sharpton and a few of his ilk a REAL run for their money as to who is the bigger media & attention whore is.

Do any of these actions sound like what you would expect a true Conservative to take part in?

At least little Newtie didn’t go running to give Big Barry a figurative hug and kiss and come out endorsing him just a couple of weeks before the election.

Many people ask: “What happening to the man who led the Republicans to victory in 1994?” My opinion: he fell into the same trap that he scolds some of the Republicans that went to Washington with him: He became a Beltway Insider and sold whatever soul he had to always be the one the media runs to for a sound-bite.

Kinda makes ya wonder how Colin, Mike, John, and a few of the other attention whores feel…

Hey Newt, would you, Colin, John, Lindsey, Mike, Micheal, and a few others (Olympia, Susan, Christopher to start…) just be honest and go be Democrats? Please…? We know by your strips that you are NOT Conservatives.

I’ve been to New York… that said, i can understand why 1.5 million people are leaving.

Oh wait, they aren’t leaving just to get out of New York, but because the powers that be think it’s ok to confiscate the earnings of these people just because they have WORKED for it and they owe those taxes to the state and cities for the privilege of living there.

Like i said, i’ve been to New York… New York countryside is some of the most beautiful in the country… the cities… well, i understand why people would run from them screaming.

And ya gotta give New Yorker’s credit where credit is due: if they can put with NYC and all the… well, let’s just say that it takes a certain kind of person to allow themselves to be jammed together like that and still find a modicum of peace.

Even with all that NYC can dish out these people were willing to endure it.

Well, until now… now that they have to foot the bill (unequally, i might add) for the ‘pleasure’ and status of calling New York home.

It’s one thing to pay ‘your fair share’, but when you have to pay everyone else’s… who can really be surprised that these 1.5 million New Yorkers have said “Enough is enough”, packed their bags and moved.

And i will bet that after finding out how much of their OWN MONEY they will be allowed to keep and SPEND AS THEY CHOOSE, they will come to realize that there is a world out there west of the Hudson River and south of Binghampton.

And even if they do have weird accents, the rest of this country will welcome them.

It’s a great day for Conservatism!

Yeah, Doug Hoffman lost.

Or did he?

Yeah… he isn’t going to Washington this year to take a seat as a Representative from New York’s 23rd District. But he would never be able to buy the vast amount of publicity and support he got as a result of his candidacy. In politics that is not considered a loss.

With true conservative supporters like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Mark Levin, Tim Pawlenty (to name a few), Doug Hoffman came from virtually nowhere to showcase the glaring differences between the traditional Conservative and more moderate Republican hierarchy of Newt Gingrich, Pete Sessions (R-TX), The RNC, The National Republican Congressional Committee, and I could go on.

Like Sarah Palin, Doug Hoffman is from the outside and thereby not truly welcomed by the Washington and ‘Country Club Blueblood’ Republican elitists. OH, if he had won they would give their congratulations, but he would not be welcomed into the upper echelon and inner sanctums of the ‘anointed ones’ of the Republican Party.

I heard someone postulate about how the Hoffman defeat will hurt his supporters… ye-ah… ri-ight…

Sarah, Michelle, Rush… these will not suffer, but will instead reap vast rewards from the Conservative base because they stood up and supported him from the get-go. I thought it funny that Saturday when Dede Scozzafava bailed and then promptly turned around and, for lack of a better word: screwed both the RNC & the NRCC. From whom she had taken over one million dollars. I guess that’s the kind of gratitude you can expect when you handpick someone as shady as she proved to be.

Ooohhh… I guess I shouldn’t be so hard on her should I?

Well, now, lets take a look at who Newt, Steele, and the rest of the “we don’t need or want Conservatives” in our Republican Party were trying to shove down the voters of NY-23’s throats: Dede Scozzafava
This woman leans further to the left than even Bill Owens!
· She is all in favor of the Stimulus Bill, a departure from her “fellow” Republicans.
· A supporter of big labors favorite bill – card-check.
· A… cozy relationship with Obama’s favorite group of community action figures: ACORN and their allies Working Families Party. Barack Obama was strongly endorsed by the Working Families Party.
· A supporter of both abortion and legislation to codify same-sex marriage she ran counter to the values of the Conservatives.
I will say this for her: she was endorsed by the NRA. Hmmm…?

And then there is the truly smarmy way she acted after bowing out of the race.

And I don’t care how Newt wants to tell it that she did the “statesman like thing in dropping out…”. Newt, Newt, Newt… you used to be a teacher. A history teacher at that, when did a TRUE statesman act as petty as this woman? You need to go back to Georgia and teaching and relearn what Conservatism really is.

But… I think that there are a lot of people who NEED to either learn or relearn what Conservatism is and how it fits in the Republican Party.

And after last night, I believe that whether they like it or not the ‘Country Club Bluebloods’ are going to have to sit up, put down their Manhattans and pay attention.

Even though Doug Hoffman will not be packing his suitcase and catching the 5:14 to Washington this time, his time is just another year away.

Both the Republican and Democrat Parties are now on notice that the liberal, money-spending, power-grabbing attitude in politics is not what the public wants.

This really puts the pressure on the Blue-Dog Democrats who now have to seriously rethink their positions and who they throw their support behind Big Barry, Nancy Pah-losi, and that little dweeb in the Senate… oh yeah, Harry Reid. **Heard where he was trying to strong-arm Joe Leiberman and lie about how Joe was onboard for the rationed government healthcare scam, I mean bill.**

Anyway, now where does that leave Screecher Nancy Pah-losi? Is she going to try strong-arming her new Representative Bill Owens? What good is that going to do? Realistically he is not going to be returned after the 2010 elections. And what tactic can she use against the Blue-Dog Democrats?

I mean, what are their options?
1.Vote for the rationed government healthcare scam and go home to angry constituents who would not vote for them as dog-catcher?
2.Or go against Pah-losi and be the walking dead in the House, not getting assigned to any committees?

The Blue Dog Democrats can see that if they plan to continue parking their backsides in those House (and Senate) seats, they need to stick to their Conservative leanings. This will pose a problem for them for two reasons: Nancy Pah-losi will render them impotent in their seats, and George Soros has already come out threatening anyone who doesn’t tow the line with backing whoever is challenging them for their position in the Democrat Party.

With that in their minds and the minds of a LOT of Republicans they have to take into consideration the impact his race has made on the political scene…

Here we have a guy who is not even given a chance by the Republican big-wigs. When the people who actually vote realized what ‘their’ Party was foisting on them they went looking at other opportunities within the Party. A candidate with values and principles aligned to theirs.

No real third party candidate, just another Republican who still believed in Conservative values. Something which has been lacking the last few years from the Republican Party of Newt Gingrich, Michael Steele, and others.

Then, with a stumbling, bumbling campaign fraught with not enough money and having to play ‘catch-up’ football, he came from behind and to within less than a mere 5,000 votes of winning. Without, in fact, with the OPPOSITION of the Republican Party.

What should this tell Newt and all his ‘better-than-thou’ Republicans?

The people don’t want his kind of Republican Party. Or a Democrat Party that is sucking the life out of this country, for that matter.

Less than 5,000 votes… That many? Wow… that’s like… what a 5 percent margin… at most… Well… color me impressed by the wild landslide Bill Owens had here. **yawn**

Gimme a minute here to wonder what Bill Owens is thinking. All the air in the room was and still is being devoted to the Hoffman/Scozzafava dustup. I doubt anyone would have noticed if Bill Owens were to have given his acceptance speech in the buff.

So? Did the Democrats really win yesterday?

Did they? Erick Erickson at RedState.com points out that “While the Democrats are crowing a bit this morning over the unusual circumstances of NY-23, they might want to pay attention to one under-reported fact: Bill Owens, the man NY-23 sent to Congress last night, campaigned against the public option.”

Back to my question: Did the Democrats win yesterday? Not really, the groundswell of Conservatism will see this as reassurance they are on the right road, and the Blue Dog Democrats are now in one heck of a tough spot. They now see that if they go along with Big Barry…
Oh, did I mention that the two other major races yesterday were both lost by Democrats who Big Barry had condescended to stump for… uht O!

Hey Bill, walking around with a sign-board over your front and back may get people to notice you. Just saying, dude…

First there was Big Barry telling supposedly homeless Henrietta Hughes in Florida that he would take care of her and make sure she was not going to be homeless anymore.

Then there were the two women in front of Cobo Center in Detroit who had this exchange with WJR reporter Ken Rogulski:

ROGULSKI: Why are you here?
WOMAN #1: To get some money.
ROGULSKI: What kind of money?
WOMAN #1: Obama money.
ROGULSKI: Where’s it coming from?
WOMAN #1: Obama.
ROGULSKI: And where did Obama get it?
WOMAN #1: I don’t know, his stash. I don’t know. (laughter) I don’t know where he got it from, but he givin’ it to us, to help us.
WOMAN #2: And we love him.
WOMAN #1: We love him. That’s why we voted for him!
WOMEN: (chanting) Obama! Obama! Obama! (laughing)

Now we have Big Barry doing it again, only this time he’s trying to buy off the country’s senior citizens with a $250 check to get their support for his rationed government healthcare scam.

I guess he thinks that they are stupid or drugged up enough that they won’t remember that he and his minions have secured a zero cost of living increase in their benefits. Instead, he is going to reach into his stash and slide them each a check for $250.

Can I be breathless here with the generosity of our Dear Leader?

Just at the time he and this charlatan brigade in the Congress are set for their final push to rahm their rationed, public-option, government healthscam down our throats.

Said that he didn’t need a job anymore because Obama was going to take care of him, that was why he voted for Obama…

And now Big Barry is going to try it again, only this time with the senior citizens of this country.

I wonder how long it will be before the Executive Director of the Senior Citizen League, Shannon Benton, will be vilified for coming out against this hocus-pocus plan and her questioning Big Barry?
